It is also adenine-based, (2E)-2-methyl-4-(1H-purin-6-ylamino)-2-buten-1-ol, 6-(4-Hydroxy-3-methylbut-2-enylamino)purine. trans-Zeatin is a naturally occurring cytokinin in plant tissue culture that stimulates cell division and enhances shoot formation. It promotes robust regeneration, delays senescence, and supports healthy organogenesis, making it essential for effective plant propagation.
